    Painting plastic bumpers

Ive read that if the bumpers are still on the car, you do not need the additive, only needed if the bumpers are being painted while off the car..

    Any opinions?

    Re: Painting plastic bumpers

what kind of additive are you talking about?

I just use plastic primer if I have grinded down to the plastic itself. If not, do as normal
What's the diffrence if the bumber is on or off anyway? x)
By the way, you should set the bumper up so it's at the same angle as it would be on the car. Cuz of the clearcoat structure.
If you are using a paintbox, be careful of disfiguring the bumper and of using too much heat who will make small bubbles in the paint..

The difference of being off, is when being installed you may flex the bumper causing the paint to crack, if it is on the car it will already be stable.

I see.. never had the problem with our products. And there is no additive to prevent this either for what we use, that I know of. Guess we use diffrent stuff over here in the europe

Located in Norway, the land of butter crisis.
Just started using Lesonal / Akzo Nobel. Also used Glasurit alot in the past. Water based, as thinner based is not allowed for firms to use over here.
Dunno if any of these are used in the USA though.
